OK, This is Ridiculous

So I don't know how it got conveyed that Megan and I don't want to tell anyone what we're having. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We wish someone would've taken the reigns here. Megan wanted to scan the ultrasound, but we don't have a scanner at home. She has one at the school, but she's usually so tired when she gets home that no scanning ever gets done. I've been sick, we've been out of town, I've had tons of homework, yadda yadda yadda. So yeah, we meant to tell you all (or have Mom tell you, but apparently we didn't tell her that she could tell) right when we found out, but it didn't happen. I guess all y'all just got some bonus antici...............pation free of charge.

So here is the official statement as to the gender of our yet-to-be-born child: it's going to be a boy. We intend to name him Rodney McAllister Badger. We chose the name because it's a family name on both sides. Megan had an uncle Rodney who died shortly after his mission. Of course on the Badger side we have our great great great grandfather Rodney Badger. We don't plan on calling him Rod for short. If we do give him a nickname, it'll probably be Mac. Either that or Dinglydell Slaptyback.

So there you have it. Now you know...the rest of the story (say it in your head like Paul Harvey).

This is What It's Like When Blogs Collide

So I just merged the Baby Badger Blog with this blog. It seemed sad to have two blogs I wasn't updating, so I consolidated. I hope to write some things in this blog soon, but don't hold your breath. I am notoriously bad at this.

Buncha Liars

Hey y'all. Although I am glad Paul and Carrie moved to Pima and Kimberly is pregnant, I feel compelled to point out that they're all a bunch of liars with flaming pantalones. What else don't we know? Is Kelly engaged? Is Lynnette the lead singer in a Van Halen cover band? Is Robert taking over now that Kim Jung-Il is dead? I just don't know what to believe anymore.

Here's the thing: before Christmas, I cornered Paul and asked him point blank if they were moving to Pima. At that point he said that they were not even though he knew that they were. As a matter of fact, they were secretly sneaking some of their stuff into town under the guise of visiting Carrie's parents. Oh what a tangled web they wove.

Then there's the matter of Kimberly's pregnancy. Kimberly is actually due sooner than Megan which means they must have known about their pregnancy before we knew about ours. Megan asked Kimberly if she was pregnant while we were in St. Johns. Kimberly said she wasn't, which was a bold-faced stinky dinky lie. I'm happy for all y'all, but I do feel bad that your children have to be raised by pernicious prevaricators.

Here's the thing: my life is an open book (perhaps even a little too open). I believe in honesty being the best policy. So here's what I'm asking: if any of you have anything to get off your chests, do it now. Also, if you think I'm really angry about any of this I would refer you to my well-known sarcastic nature (I told you, my life is an open book). I just think it was funny that Megan and I were told two white lies in order to protect a couple of surprises. We are surprised and we're happy for all of you. You may now douse the flames that are surely lapping at your respective derrieres.

Clueless Detectives

Hey y'all. I just remembered that I forgot to put the link up for the movie Jeff and I made: The Clueless Detectives. Both videos can be found over on Jeff's blog. The link is embedded in these words. Go take a peek at how silly/nerdy I was in high school. Also, the fourth episode of the podcast is in the can and will be uploaded as early as this afternoon possibly.

Diminishing Margin of Returns

So I've been tracking the download statistics of the podcast and they have halved with each successive episode. If this trend continues I will have a listening audience that can be graphed as a function of x in which x approaches but never reaches zero (think asymptotally). Some would see this as a major setback or a comment on the quality of the podcast. I see it as neither a good indicator of anything whatsoever nor a reason to stop. The only reason I haven't posted a fourth episode is because Leah pulled on my microphone cord and broke the mount for my homemade stand. I would have fixed it but my drill was broken when it fell off the roof when I was trying in vain to force an antenna to get any reception whatever. These are all amusing anecdotes a very select few could be listening to right now but that takes us back to the broken mic stand. I'll get a fourth episode up as soon as I have the ability. Until then I shall keep pressing forward in spite of evidence pointing to the fact that I should have stopped pressing forward a long time ago.

Podcast Episode 3

That's right people. Just when you hadn't downloaded and listened to the second (or possibly even the first) episode yet, boom goes the dynamite. This time I kept it to a tight 29 (minutes, that is) so it should be a little bit easier to download and digest. Go ahead. Do it. I dares ya. The link is right here in these very words.
